Course
News: Mechanics shed· This is now completed and will prove a first class addition to the
green keepers accommodation. Through the winter months all the green keeping
machinery and equipment is completely stripped and serviced and the necessity
to provide the proper accommodation to carry out this work was long overdue.
Previously a large percentage of the equipment servicing was put out to an
external contractor |

Catering News: Check the social notice board
for details of special events. Chris is willing to organize dinners, parties
etc. Contact him direct for further
info. Bar prices. In line with the budget and general increases
from our suppliers it has been necessary to review our Bar prices. As from
the 1st April there will be an increase in the following items
Draught; 80 /-, Belhaven & Tennents Lager from £1.95 to £2.05, Cider,
Guinness Real ale & Stella Artois from £2.10 to £2.25. No change on
Spirits, Fortified wines, Liqueurs and Minerals. Bottled & canned beers
increased by 10p. The increased prices will still compare very favorably with similar
establishments and be considerably cheaper than normal lounge bar prices. The purchase of Bar / Food vouchers will provide a 10% reduction.
Making a pint of Lager for instance, £1.85 which is extremely competitive |

Deeside League news. Peter Guthrie has now taken over
from Steve Dyker as Deeside league Convenor. We are looking for more gentlemen
to participate in the league, the fixtures are on the main notice board along
with the selection sheets. The league games are normally on a Thursday
evening. You do not have to be a scratch player to play if you have a
handicap then you are eligible for a game so come on gentlemen stick your
names down on the sheets. |

CLUB HOUSE NEWS By the time you read this the new heating system should be commissioned and running. The Management Committee is quite confident that overall comfort within the lounge and dining room areas will improve dramatically with the new heating system and curtains. The old heating system was electric which was proving increasingly expensive to run, there was also a problem with the radiators which were becoming unreliable and the sourcing spare parts was a major problem. The curtains
were the original fittings from when the clubhouse opened, they were dress
curtains, in other words they did not close. The curtain runners were also
beginning to disintegrate and it would not of been possible to hang new
curtains on the present runners. The clubhouse
generally has been given a freshen up by repainting. The rearrangement of the
wooden notice boards and club Championship Targe also necessitated the
repainting of certain areas. In the near future a unit, which will
incorporate the score computer system and slots for scorecards, will also be
installed A replacement
front door was also necessity due to the old door being in such a condition
that it could not be securely locked. The external appearance of the Clubhouse will also be enhanced with the completion of the planters and the general tiding up of the trolley parking area and verges. |
