PETERCULTER GOLF CLUB INAUGURAL SPONSORS & GUESTS GOLF TOURNAMENT

On Thursday 22nd August, Peterculter Golf Club staged its Inaugural Sponsors & Guests Golf Tournament on its new course layout. The event format was played as a Team of four Texas Scramble with 22 teams invited to play.  Teams graciously accepted and contributed to an enjoyable day and a successful first time event.  Play commenced at 13:00 hrs with a shotgun start and was successfully completed under the 4 hour mark, quite an achievement when you consider 22 teams playing round 18 holes at the same time – well done ladies and gents. During the round a courtesy refreshment stand was available at the 10th tee compliments of  The Copthorne Hotel, Aberdeen, thanks to the 2 young hostesses who weathered all and lived to tell the tale!  Upon completion of play all competitors retired to the clubhouse to enjoy some after work refreshment, a well earned BBQ and some video footage of themselves playing from on course, courtesy of Mr Bill Morrison, Aberdeen Audio Visual. In order to mark what will be from now on an annual Club fixture at Peterculter Golf Club, an appropriate trophy was very kindly donated by Oiltools Europe Ltd.  On behalf of the Club I would like to thank Oiltools Europe for their kind donation and in particular Mr Alan Steedman M.D. and Mr David Forbes.

After everyone was fed and watered the presentation of prizes got under way with the following picking up the top three spots:
1st Team: Hall Morrice & Ptns Hugh Hall, Ian Morrice, Neill McDonald, Elis Duguid (56.9)
2nd Team: Evening Express Alan Brown, Harry Roulson, Dennis Burt, Ron Ferrier (59.4)
3rd Team: Oiltools Europe Ltd Alan Steedman, David Forbes, Alan Robertson, Jason Dixon (60.0)
